Reese Brantmeier on her transition to the WTA Tour

I caught up with Reese Brantmeier following her run in Newport to discuss her transition from college tennis to the professional tour. 

We talked about why grass complements her aggressive style, how leading UNC prepared her for life on tour, and the areas she’s prioritizing in her game, particularly consistency and physical development. 

Reese also shared the inspiration behind the Reese Brantmeier Project, which restored two neglected public courts in her hometown to help grow the game at the grassroots level. 

We finished by discussing her advocacy for NCAA players earning prize money while in college, the challenges of taking on that fight, and why she believes meaningful change is needed despite her love for collegiate tennis. 

Above all, Reese emphasized that her biggest goal is to enjoy the journey both on and off the court, believing that mindset gives her the best chance to play her best tennis.
